The Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik have known, and cared for native species in Nova Scotia for thousands of years. Our work in caring for, and repairing the environment is an extension of their work. We cannot reach our goals without looking to existing land and water protectors. As we strive for Netukulimk, we honour and acknowledge that Nova Scotia exists in Mi’kmaki, the unceded and ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq people.
